The plot tells the story of Anna, daughter of Paulo, a missionary doctor. The two live together in the north of Minas Gerais. Paulo receives a call to a dangerous mission and, unfortunately, Anna will not be able to accompany him. The father leaves his daughter at a boarding school in the interior of São Paulo, where the girl will live with very different children. Paulo promises to return on his daughter's birthday, but mysteriously, he doesn't return.
