The medical team at King's College Hospital face a 12-hour night shift trying to treat young men with stab wounds, as their friends gather in the A&E waiting room and tension mounts.
Patients on the nightshift include a stabbing victim, an 86-year-old woman who's spent her life alone, and a former international lawyer who's lost his wife, family and home to alcoholism.
The medical team, patients and their families face the meaning of life and death. One of the patients is 77-year-old John, who faces a dangerous operation for a potentially deadly aneurism.
