The store has been supplied with a new security system which means security guards are no longer needed. Howard must fire Alf but he's got no heart to do it until the freak lady store owner commands him to do it.

Howard gets an interview to become an assistant manager at a luxury hotel, but has to deal with a faulty security alarm keeping him from getting sleep.
