A former dancer dies alone in her house in Lolland. She was supposed to have a son, but he is not to be found in the archives. Mette Frisk and archivist Adam Jon Kronegh go in search of heirs in the dancer's colorful past. Along the way, they find a document that turns the entire inheritance case upside down.

Ejner has made the most of life, even though he grew up without much contact with his family. A DR program has previously tried to gather his relatives, but they have had difficulty staying together. Now Mette Frisk and archivist Adam Jon Kronegh are trying to find and collect them again, so that the family can inherit the "Prince of Egebo".
