A young deaf-mute is credited as a hero after he saves a guard from a warehouse fire just as Pete, Linc, and Julie come upon the scene. But someone is trying to kill the young man, who seems ashamed by all the attention he's getting, and may know more than he's letting on.

The killers of his friend are also looking for Pete, planning to kill him as well.
