It's the end of the 80s of the twentieth century. Life in the small town of Elista continues to flow in the usual way. However, the idyll that reigns here begins to crumble rapidly when, on one of the ordinary days, a young doctor Kirsan Ayushev begins to observe strange symptoms in some of his young patients. The latter soon lead him to believe that these children have HIV infection. However, when he tells his colleagues about this, the latter do not want to believe in his statement. In order to be able to confirm his words, Kirsan decides to send several tests to the metropolitan laboratory.

Even in the recent past, life in the small town of Elista, located in the Kalmyk ASSR, proceeded in the usual measured spirit. How great is his surprise when he realizes that this disease is an HIV infection. To verify his suspicions, he decides to secretly send test tests to one of the capital's laboratories.
