Peckler (Mark L Taylor) wants to fire a new doctor (Dennis Howard) when it's rumored that he's gay. The new doctor was brought into the hospital to head up a drug rehabilitation program. Petty thefts around the hospital point to a strange group of suspects: a strange outpatient who harasses the staff, a recovered kleptomatic who's mother is a hospital benefactor, and an orderly with a history of police trouble. Peckler tries to fire a new doctor when he learns the physician is gay.

When Mrs. Phipps is tricked by a patient who is a con artist, Norman comes to her rescue.
