A fierce battle between the Vikings and the French eventually comes down to Ragnar against Rollo and the outcome seals the fates of the two brothers.
The labours of the Vikings bear fruit as, within sight of Paris, they re-launch their fleet but this time with some formidable new structures that Floki has engineered. Aethelwulf and Alfred arrive in Rome and honours are conferred by Pope Leo. Relations are not so cordial in Wessex.
A recap special that looks back on past seasons 1-4A of History's Vikings.
Vikings returns for a gripping fourth season. Season 3 culminated with the extraordinary battle in Paris, where Ragnar seized victory from the jaws of defeat–but still returns to Kattegat dangerously ill. Thoughts of his death galvanize the forces who seek to succeed him as king, including his wife Queen Aslaug and his oldest son, Bjorn. Meanwhile, Lagertha continues power struggles with her calculating, former second in command, Kalf; Rollo betrays his Vikings heritage by remaining in Frankia and Floki is seized for his brutal actions to the Christian priest Athelstan.
