A distraught woman hires Paladin to find her missing fiancé Albert. Finding him is easy: getting him away from the Irishman who bought him to play at a bar, not so much.

Paladin is set upon by an alcoholic, Moses Kadish, who has moved with his wife to the middle of nowhere to avoid any temptation to drink. However, temptation follows Moses when he drills a well and strikes whiskey.
