The second event on the 2022 calendar sees the likes of British Olympic medallists Keely Hodgkinson, Holly Bradshaw and Josh Kerr in action as they fine-tune their preparations ahead of an incredibly busy summer of athletics. Also competing are sprint sensation Dina Asher-Smith and international stars such as Olympic 200m champion Andre de Grasse of Canada. It is also a first chance to see the redevelopment that the Alexander Stadium has undergone ahead of it hosting athletics at the Commonwealth Games later in the year.

An electrifying men's 100m is set to feature all three current Olympic medallists, including shock Tokyo winner Marcell Jacobs, alongside world sprint champions Christian Coleman and Noah Lyles.

Other highlights include a repeat of the women's 800m Olympic showdown between Athing Mu and Britain's Keely Hodgkinson, a stellar men's pole vault competition, headlined by Mondo Duplantis, and world record attempts by Joshua Cheptegei in the men's 5000m, Burundi's Francine Niyonsaba in the women's two mile and Letesenbet Gidey in the women's one-hour run.
