As the town recovers from the devastating effects of the blackout, a truly horrifying discovery is made and an emergency town meeting is called to address the issue. Susannah manages to foster calm in the community, but secretly she is fearful of what this phenomenon might mean, particularly for Cassie.

Whilst investigating Amrita's disappearance, Paul's own attachment to Nathan is challenged. Susannah tries to understand the cause of the children's violent instincts. The children now see Susannah as a threat and use their powers to neutralise her.
