Ugo Monye presents highlights from the opening weekend of the rugby championship, featuring the Calcutta Cup clash between old enemies Scotland and England.

Scotland earned a historic win at Twickenham in last year's tournament, and although England have triumphed on five of their past six visits to Edinburgh, they were aiming to bounce back from a disappointing fifth-place finish in 2021.

In Dublin, Ireland were looking to carry on their impressive form from the autumn, when they opened their campaign against reigning champions Wales, while pre-tournament favourites France took on Italy in Paris.

Scotland v England

Rugby's oldest rivalry resumes in the opening round of this year's Six Nations as Scotland aim to take another scalp against arch-enemies England at Murrayfield.

Scotland have been much improved in this fixture in recent seasons, culminating in their historic Calcutta Cup triumph at Twickenham in 2021. England, though, prevailed in awful weather conditions during the most recent meeting in Edinburgh a year earlier and will have revenge firmly on their minds.

Wales v Scotland

Gabby Logan introduces live coverage from Cardiff, with Wales taking on Scotland as the second round of the Six Nations gets under way.

The last time the Scots visited Wales, in 2020, they emerged with a first victory there for 18 years in a tight encounter in Llanelli. However, the Welsh gained revenge with a thrilling 25-24 win in Edinburgh 12 months ago on their way to capturing a second title in three years. With both teams harbouring expectations of winning this year's championship, another tight encounter is expected at the Principality Stadium.
