A new hot-headed inmate Paul (Byrnes) is determined to escape prison.  The head guard (McNally) is an arrogant son of a gun and cracks down on Paul. When the head guard assigns Paul to help an old inmate Doc (Keith) with his work, an opportunity arises.

A professor decides to research married couples who have proclivities toward killing their spouse. So he advertises that in so many words in newspaper. The resulting replies lead to results well worth a journal article.
