When the pair reconnected decades later, Darrin says he was manipulated by her false allegations of Jamie's abuse. Darrin tells Dateline that when he committed the fatal shooting, it felt like he was on a "mission in the military," adding, "I was doing what I had to do to protect Jennifer."
