A disc jockey's ex-wife and her friend are killed in a mysterious accident and Pete and Mac are called in. Sonny Bono pops up in the opening yarn about the seedy side of the music business involving the murder of a disc jockey's ex-wife. The sleuths start sniffing in this serviceable plot.

Pete and Mac pose as potential drug buyers in order to clear the reputation of a former detective friend whose death was listed as a suicide.
