Alex Jones and Steph McGovern meet Hannah and Damian, who were forced to sell their house after being made redundant and now dream of owning a home again.
Alex and Steph are in Hampshire with a family desperate to get on top of their spending. Georgette and Tommy got married seven years ago, bringing together their two families. Two years ago they upsized to a property in need of renovation, but in order to get the work finished they had to put everything on the credit card. Since then they have continued spending, so to try to get back in the black Tommy had to give up his dream job as a police officer and go back to his better-paid job in logistics. Can Alex and Steph help them reign in their spending so that they can get their finances back on track? To get Tommy and Georgette to confront the true scale of their spending habits, Alex and Steph sneak into their house to take a closer look and set up a pop-up shop of their biggest spends.
Alex Jones and Steph McGovern return and are off to Yorkshire to tackle the Atwal-Brice family's seasonal spend. As foster parents, Paul and Michael have cared for over 20 children, including twin brothers Levi and Lucas who they adopted ten years ago. Levi and Lucas have since been diagnosed with autism and epilepsy, and need full-time care. As well as continuing to foster, Paul and Michael have recently adopted another set of one-year-old twins, Lance and Lotan. For this busy household, Paul and Michael feel Christmas is all about making special memories and don't hold back on anything, but can Steph and Alex convince them that magical memories don't have to come with a hefty price tag? If this family can make a few cutbacks they could start saving for a family trip to Disneyland, Florida. Alex also investigates how Christmas candles get their smell, while Steph finds out more about this year's interactive must-have toys.
