Martha is offered a place at Greatacre, the boarding school her mother once went to. Ollie can't cope with the idea of Martha leaving and Alfie also goes overboard mourning her potential departure. Ollie is jealous and the two boys go head to head, trying to out-mourn one another. At first both Martha and Mrs Fitzgerald are keen for Martha to accept her place, but Martha starts to have second thoughts...Meanwhile, Lily is excited to learn a premier league football scout is coming to the school to assess Rob. Jas decides to help coach Lily in how to become the perfect WAG...

Martha and Ollie's team always comes first in the school's general knowledge quiz. Lily is determined that this year she and Jas will beat Martha and Ollie. However, both Lily and Martha get the flu. Maxwell and Cassie are roped in as replacement team members for Lily and Martha, who continue to give orders from their sick beds. Jas is confident that she won't get sick because of her dad's homemade 'Salford Special' health drink. Jas and Maxwell in turn try to play on Ollie's hypochondria to gain the upper hand. Meanwhile, Mrs Griggs has decided to perform a salsa dance before the quiz with a reluctant Mr Malone as her partner. When Mrs Griggs gets the flu Ms Parfitt has to step in.

Series 3 sees the three socially awkward friends, Lily, Martha and Jas, navigate the trials and tribulations of secondary school life. One year older, but still just as awkward, the friends are trying to make sense of life as teenagers. On top of mounting homework, the trio must also deal with the awkward issues of teenage crushes and growing pains, but at least they have each other to turn to when it all gets just that bit too much.
