A man on parole falls in love with a girl who has been seeing a hoodlum. The hoodlum warns the paroled man to stay away from the girl and when he refuses he schemes to make his rival violate his parole.

Sid Devlin, a well-meaning cab driver in need of money, is persuaded by ruthless criminal Max Gebler to act as an accomplice in an armored-car-robbery. Gebler involves Devlin's wife to make sure he won't back out of the deal.
