The fate of the Ile de France. The luxury ocean liner was regarded as the pride of France, after saving many lives in the Second World War and then emerging from the conflict. Just before being scrapped, the ship was used as a floating prop for the 1960 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer disaster film The Last Voyage.
