While visiting Chicago, Darien learns that a man was killed by a future weapon, and goes undercover at a computer company to catch the killers, a pair of fugitive brothers.

One of Darien's old instructors winds up in the hospital, and Darien seeks his adopted son, a deaf boy lost in the mountains of Colorado.
