On Christmas Eve 2024, a burning car is discovered at a swimming spot in the small town of Hindås, outside Gothenburg. When emergency services arrive, they find a body in the back seat. Meanwhile, a mud-covered man carrying a baseball bat is roaming the small community, and a worried girlfriend reports her boyfriend missing. Clues and leads eventually guide police investigators to a Christmas party at a private home. But the big question remains: who did what, and why?

When kiosk owner Hanna Konac is brutally robbed and murdered in her convenience store in Norrköping, the police, despite several witnesses, have no trace of the perpetrators. After a while, it emerges that a series of robberies in Gothenburg have had a similar approach and the hunt can begin. There are many indications that it could be a man and a pregnant woman. Suddenly, the police receive a tip-off that changes the game plan considerably.

In the fall of 2024, the police in Skåne receive a report of a rape of an underage girl in Hörby. The suspected perpetrator is arrested and it turns out that they have once again caught the "Nytorgsmannen", Sweden's worst serial rapist, four years after he ravaged Södermalm in Stockholm. When a new preliminary investigation against the man now begins, the police quickly come across a number of new crimes.
