A police investigation begins after Maud Johansson was reported missing on October 18, 2005. After several years of persistent search work, the investigation seems to be at a standstill, but the police are not giving up.

In July 2022, Mölndal is shaken when a dead man is discovered half-undressed, branded and with a tape player placed on his body. The police suspect that something much more disturbing than a simple murder has occurred.
