Rhod Gilbert is joined by a who's who of British comedy for a one-of-a-kind charity gala, to tell cancer in no uncertain terms that it will not have the last laugh. Contributors include John Bishop, Greg Davies, Charlotte Ritchie, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Gemma Arterton, Prue Leith, Jordan Gray, Cush Jumbo, The Vivienne, Danny Beard, Joel Dommett, Davina McCall, Adam Hills, Joe Lycett and Munya Chawawa.
Live from London, Davina McCall, Adam Hills, Joe Lycett and Munya Chawawa kick off the charity's eighth televised fundraising special. Together, they'll take over London's awe-inspiring Francis Crick Institute, a renowned hub for pioneering biomedical research, to celebrate the staggering breakthroughs in cancer research made possible by public donations. Hilarious comedy talent and celebrity supporters of the campaign join forces to bang the drum for SU2C, and the Prince of Wales pays a heartfelt tribute to 'Bowelbabe', the late Deborah James.
The comedian documents his life living with head and neck cancer over the course of 18 months, from diagnosis, through initial surgery, to chemotherapy and radiotherapy. On top of everything he's dealing with, Rhod undertakes a personal challenge, not only to raise awareness of his condition and how it can be prevented in the future, but also to raise funds for the cancer hospital that played a pivotal role in saving his life.
