Holmes is trying to prevent the marriage of a violent suitor who wants to marry to a rich heiress solely for money.

A man tells his wife he is going to kill her and that he killed seven times already. Upon realising he might be serious, she visits Inspector Lestrade who doesn't believe her... but Holmes does.
