Becca's new documentary is put on hold when the jazz club she's featuring is set on fire by an unknown arsonist, the club's famous owner goes missing and the police begin searching for him, claiming that he tried to destroy his own club.

In the colourful lights of a midway, Shade and Angie stumble upon the body of a carnival worker and are thrust deep into the world of travelling carnies, an eerily accurate psychic and a ring of thieves.
