The letter comes after Harvard University sued the federal government after the Trump administration said they will slash billions of dollars in research funds. NBC News' Stephanie Gosk has more. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and FDA Commissioner Marty Makary announced they'll remove petroleum-based synthetic dyes from the nation's food supply. The U.S. has reported more than 8,000 cases of whooping cough cases this year, more than double from this time last year. Elon Musk told investors during a Tesla earnings call on Tuesday that his time at the Department of Government Efficiency will drop significantly starting in May. Over the next two weeks, cardinals from across the globe will descend on Vatican City and the process will begin to choose a new pope. The 135 cardinals under the age of 80 are eligible to vote. The cardinals will be shut off from the outside world. NBC News' Molly Hunter has more from Rome.
