In a wide-ranging interview on CNBC, the President said he could raise his looming 25% tariff on India even higher because of that country's insistence on buying Russian oil. Multiple wildfires continue to burn in other parts of the country and smoke from the Canada wildfires prompted air quality alerts in at least a dozen states today. Lawyers for Ghislaine Maxwell filed a request to block the government's efforts to release grand jury transcripts in the investigation of Jeffrey Epstein. Meanwhile, a House Committee subpoenaed a group of prominent national figures to testify about Epstein, including Bill and Hillary Clinton. NBC News' Kelly O'Donnell reports. In Jackson, Tennessee, a suspected killer was arrested this morning after officials say they received multiple calls from residents. Police released surveillance video showing the suspect armed with a rifle and wearing camouflage. NBC News' Priya Sridhar reports from the scene. On August 6, 1945, the U.S. dropped the first atomic weapon of war on the Japanese city of Hiroshima, killing tens of thousands of people. 80 years later, NBC News' Janis Mackey Frayer travelled to Hiroshima to visit the city's Peace Memorial Park and to speak with survivors about the lasting impact. There's good news tonight about a rescue in Baltimore that saved a man's life. Police officers were patrolling city pools in their helicopter when they received a call about a drowning victim. Law enforcement officials are urgently searching for a suspected killer who shot four people at a bar on Friday. Authorities say the suspect is armed and incredibly dangerous. Residents in the area are on high alert. NBC News' Morgan Chesky reports. NBC News' Anne Thompson reports on the increase in tick bites this summer. Fordham's Louis Calder Center Director Thomas Daniels tells NBC News the number of ticks they've seen this year is at least thirty percent higher than in previous years. After President Trump fired the commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, he called a recent jobs report "rigged". A former commissioner of BLS told NBC News' Garrett Haake it's not possible for the commissioner to rig data. In New Jersey over the weekend, there was a scary collision between a boat and a 20-foot Minke whale. The boat nearly capsized and a passenger was thrown overboard. Sea Tow responded to the scene and reported that the animal was deceased. The Marine Mammal Stranding Center received the whale for further examination. NBC News' Sam Brock has the story.  More than 50 Texas Democratic lawmakers headed to New York, Chicago and Boston to stall a Republican push to redraw congressional districts in their favor. Now, Republicans are issuing civil arrest warrants for those Democrats to try to force them to return to Texas. NBC News' Ryan Chandler reports. Hamas released a video of 24-year-old Evyatar David, an Israeli hostage, appearing to look frail. Another hostage video was released by Palestinian Islamic Jihad showing 22-year-old Israeli hostage Rom Braslavski also looking emaciated. NBC News' Matt Bradley speaks to the brother of Evyatar David, who says doctors are telling him it's "a matter of days" if he is unable to receive the medical care he needs. NBC Nightly News Anchor Tom Llamas reports on the extreme weather including massive wildfires burning out control in the western part of the country to air quality alerts in more than a dozen states triggered by the Canada wildfires, and the extreme heat gripping parts of the south in places like Miami. Officials say 28-year-old U.S. Army Sergeant Quornelius Radford opened fire with a personal handgun at his place of work, shooting five soldiers who were later rushed to the hospital. All soldiers are expected to make a full recovery according to Fort Stewart authorities. NBC's Priya Sridhar reports. Police say a bomb threat was made at a hotel near Chicago. Dozens of democratic lawmakers from Texas have been staying there since they fled the state to stall a Republican plan to redraw congressional districts. Lawmakers say they are undeterred by the threat. NBC News' Ryan Chandler reports. NBC News' Emilie Ikeda reports tonight on the extreme summer weather across the country impacting tens of millions from raging wildfires to record heat and heavy rain. This as wildfire smoke continues to prompt air quality alerts in more than a dozen states again tonight. A White House official says President Trump could meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin as soon as next week about a ceasefire in Ukraine. It comes after a meeting between President Trump's Envoy Steve Witkoff and Putin today in the Kremlin. NBC News' Keir Simmons reports. In Austin, Texas, Dr. Elisabeth Potter is trying to keep the doors of her surgery center open. She says not being able to get into Unitedhealthcare's network could bankrupt the center and that she believes she is being retaliated against for social media videos critical of the insurance giant. Unitedhealthcare says there was no retaliation and that its surgery center network in the region was closed when Dr. Potter applied, well before she posted any videos. NBC News' Priscilla Thompson reports. Police videos, 911 calls, and documents are revealing new details about the man who opened fire in a New York City office building last week, killing four. NBC News' Erin McLaughlin reports.
