NBC News' Tom Costello reports. Authorities in Massachusetts are investigating what caused a crane collapse in the city of Everett. Officials stated that two people died as a result of the collapse. There were new clashes over President Trump's crackdown on illegal immigration, as the president praised law enforcement officers. Plus, new images show the scope of the demolition of the East Wing of the White House to make room for an expansive new ballroom. NBC News' Garrett Haake reports On Day 23 of the federal government shutdown, Democrats blocked a Republican bill to pay federal workers who are going without paychecks. Democrats said the plan gave too much power to President Trump. NBC News' Ryan Nobles reports. An NBA head coach who's in the league's hall of fame was indicted as part of an alleged illegal poker game scheme backed by the mafia. And a current NBA player was alleged to have illegally manipulated games to make money off bets. NBC News' Laura Jarrett reports. Bruce Springsteen returned to New Jersey and recorded the album 'Nebraska' in a bedroom. President Trump is talking up a plan to import beef from Argentina to drive down prices at the grocery store. Cattle ranchers are voicing their protests to the plan as are members of the President's own party. NBC News' Christine Romans report.  The new movie 'Deliver Me from Nowhere' reveals more about his struggles and rise to fame. NBC News' Kate Snow sat down with actors Jeremy Allen White, Jeremy Strong and director Scott Cooper to discuss the film. John Middleton of North Carolina has been told without a liver transplant; he likely has about 18 months to live. His doctor has recommended a treatment that he says would give John the best chance of getting to transplant, but insurance has denied coverage, agreeing instead to cover a different drug.
