The Justice Department announced it arrested an alleged gang member in a plot to kill an immigration officer in Chicago. It comes as there's a legal showdown over President Trump's potential deployment of National Guard soldiers to two cities. Chicago officials are part of a lawsuit to stop that deployment. NBC News' Maggie Vespa reports. A mid-air accident involving a skydiving instructor and his student left one dead after they were separated mid jump. Police say the 35-year-old skydiving instructor died after he was "presumed to have fallen from the sky without a parachute." The 46 year-old student survived after his emergency parachute deployed and landed on top of a tree. NBC News' Jesse Kirsh on the harrowing details. President Trump's advisors are part of high-stakes negotiations in Egypt to implement Trump's Gaza peace plan. It comes on the eve of the second anniversary of the Hamas terror attacks.
