Rhys is driving his housemates and his girlfriend crazy as he struggles to keep occupied while his hand heals. Finally, he begs Karl to find him some work at the hospital to keep him busy. But the ordinary work chores he finds himself doing just compound his sense of uselessness. Keen to help him out, Karl suggests bringing the tests on his injured hand forward.

Convinced hes getting nowhere with rehab, Rhys loses heart. Having committed to seeing him through the process, canny Vanessa gets him cooking as a way to keep challenging himself. While hes awake to her scheme, charmed Rhys is happy to give it a go until he gets over-confident and attempts a task thats far too ambitious.
