Toadie reveals to Terese and Brad that while he's taking on Paul's case, his client will be pleading guilty. Brad uses this as an excuse when Lauren confronts him over the bribery of Cecilia – there won't be a trial now, so the false testimony will never be heard in the court. Lauren is far from happy, still viewing it as a dangerous risk to take.

Piper raises the alarm about Terese and Lauren and Karl come to her assistance. After examining Terese, Karl deems that shell be fine once shes slept off the booze. Now that she knows her mothers okay, Piper is angry and embarrassed about her drinking. To help her out, Lauren tells Piper to go and be with her friends and shell stay and keep an eye on Terese.
