Upset after Neds vitriolic outburst at the trivia event, Elly wonders if their relationship is doomed. Meanwhile, Lauren sees a freaked out Ned outside the Waterhole. When she approaches him he shakes her off. He returns later to apologise and Lauren presses him to tell her whats going on. Finally, after weeks of secrecy, Ned finds himself unburdening.

Toadie dwells on Sonya's proposal, tracking down Karl to get his perspective. Karl encourages Toadie to see it as an act of love on Sonya's part. After seeing an incredibly upset Steph pining for her child, Toadie meets Sonya to tell her his decision.
