Ai and Touch attend a unique dorm selection process in which they must complete a series of tests. Along the way, Ai develops a rivalry with Songkram.  By the time the two are seniors in university, they both have become the president of their dorms and their rivalry has persisted all this time. 

Songkram and Pipe are both competing for the affection of Ai.  They both jump at the chance of helping to tutor Meen alongside Ai.
