A young Arthur Conan Doyle attends medical school at University of Edinburgh, where he attends lectures from Dr Joseph Bell, an eccentric doctor who uses deductive reasoning to discover what's wrong with his patients, as well as being able to deduce there life story.

Dr. Arthur Conan Doyle and his mentor Dr. Joseph Bell investigate the strangulation deaths of two persons found floating in the river, as Doyle finds himself captivated by spiritualism.
