While waiting for Mother Bear to return from an errand with a goodnight kiss, Little Bear has Father Bear read him a monster story and they carouse like monsters under the full moon.

Little Bear, grumpy at the loss of his favorite ball, finds his friends using it to start a game of baseball at Emily's house. When Little Bear hits a home run he realizes that he's been a grouch and apologizes to Emily, and the gang continues to "play ball."
