The contestants deal with a mystery-box challenge that involves an unusual ingredient and a limited pantry; Season 3 winner Christine Ha introduces the the three proteins for tonight's elimination challenge, and the judges allow the winner of the mystery box challenge the chance to choose from chicken, catfish, or live dungeons crab for one cook to use, and then one of the other two proteins for the rest of the challengers to cook with. Christine Ha helps judge the elimination challenge and one contestant is sent home.

The masterchefs begin this episode with a mystery box challenge that tasks the chefs with creating a dish for Eva Longoria who chose the ingredients and helps judge this mystery box. After a winner is selected as usual the winner is given immunity from the elimination challenge and also allowed to pick what her fellow contestants will have to cook and a chance to burn one of her competitors. A winning dish was selected and a losing dish sent its creator home.
