Michael and Thelma King are a well-off married couple enjoying early retirement in the paradise of St. Maarten. To pass the time, they make new friends and take on a new business venture on the island. But their time in paradise is cut short when a trio pays a not-so-friendly visit to their resort home.

The police are searching for a suspect in the first murder investigation in thirty years to hit the small town of Oakley, Kansas. Kelly is working in a bar the next town over when the suspect comes in for a drink. With the police on their way, she needs to keep the suspect, and the other customers, from believing they are anything but safe.
