An ISN news crew spends 36 hours on Babylon 5 to film a documentary, capturing a snapshot of life on the station as well as the progress of the Narn-Centauri war.
Sheridan is forced to kill a Minbari citizen in self-defense; however, when a Minbari who witnessed the incident claims Sheridan murdered the Minbari in cold blood, he must prove his innocence or lose his command. Elsewhere, Ivanova is placed in charge of a gift shop selling Babylon 5 merchandise.
Sheridan is shocked to learn that one of the crew of the Icarus, the ill-fated science ship that exploded with his wife aboard, is alive - namely Mr. Morden. Meanwhile, a representative from the newly established Ministry of Peace visits the station to recruit personnel to the Nightwatch.
"The Babylon Project was our last, best hope for peace. A self-contained world five miles long, located in neutral territory. A place of commerce and diplomacy for a quarter of a million humans and aliens. A shining beacon in space, all alone in the night. It was the dawn of the Third Age of Mankind... the year the Great War came upon us all. This is the story of the last of the Babylon stations. The year is 2259. The name of the place is Babylon 5."
