Matt wayne try's to out-wit an organized gang of bank robbers. Members of the San Francisco banker's association want to remove Marshal Wayne from office for not bringing the robbers to justice. Wayne learns that one of the gang is hideing out in a cabin outside the city. Matt's only course is to capture the bandit, place him in jail, and find out about the rest of the gang.

Painless Pepper claiming to be a painless extractionist, arrives in San Francisco with his medicine show. Matt becomes suspicious when he notices Pepper showing an interest in the contents of the bank's vault.
