After finding out that Barbara Jean lost Henry at the mall, Reba is less than thrilled at learning Cheyenne and Van asked her to watch Elizabeth when they go out of town for a football game.

As the family celebrates Cheyenne passing the test she needed to take to get into Dentistry school, Van announces that he was invited to tryout for an arena football team. When Reba is the only one sharing her concerns that he shouldn't drop out of college for the chance of playing professional football, Van starts to doubt himself and skips the tryout. When Reba finds out why, she takes it upon herself to get Van a second chance to make his dreams come true.
