When an old Naval Academy friend and teammate, Dorsey Bramlett, now a professional quarterback, is nearly murdered, he asks Magnum to go undercover at his football team's training camp to protect him. Magnum's job is made all the more difficult by the strenuous workouts he must endure in training camp!

Robin's Nest is used as the location for a film starring Olivia Ross and her husband Jack Martin. Magnum is less-than-enthusiastic about being hired as Jack's stunt double and takes the job only because of his admiration for Olivia. But, when Jack is critically injured during a key scene in which Olivia shoots Jack with a prop gun - and the gun turns out to be loaded with real bullets - Magnum investigates the mysterious circumstances.
