1908: while in hospital after an accident, ten-year-old circus acrobat Tilda meets a dying woman who begs her to "find Arthur".

Tilda and Arthur help the Mortimers stage their version of Othello with hilarious consequences. Their happiness, however, is short-lived when Glasson tracks them down.
