It is the only series in Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo franchise that was only a one-shot drama and no serial drama version was produced.

This is the 3th generation of Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo live-action TV series. It was added to this 2nd generation as a special, being the closest of the Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo drama series.
