The story unfolds two years after Nikiforos' birthday. Elizabeth and Nikiforos experience a great loss, as Achilles, Natalia, and their daughter, Elizabeth, leave permanently for the United States, where they find work at the Boston Symphony Orchestra. This absence was due to problems between Sofia Panagou, Thanos Tokakis, and the production.

In an attempt to prevent them from leaving Greece, Nikiforos ends up being punished by a court order with house arrest for six months. Mimis and Xanthippi are dealing with the former's heart problem and cannot act sexually, much to Mimis's disappointment. Pavlos and Maria have their own child, Thanasakis.
