A scientist sends an illegally-created duplicate of himself to destroy a dangerous alien Megasoid on the loose.

An experiment to use a human brain to control and direct a future flight to another world is undertaken for a developing space project. Colonel Barham, who has been gravely crippled in the past and is dying of a disease, volunteers for the project to his brain as a merging of human and machine. However things go awry as unexpected consequences of the project occur.
