Barbara has some very exciting news, with invitations in hand for the entire office. Nick takes over a case for Lulu, where a terminally ill child has parents who disagree on the direction her care takes; Burton has a medical scare. And a factory in Burton's small hometown may have to close, which would devastate the community's economy.

A young cop shoots Nick's former drug dealer while on duty, and Burton takes a hard line on the settlement after Nick removes himself from the case. Lulu's recovery goes well. A new probationary official visits Alvin's office to question Nick's hours reporting, since he also has a full time job. And Nick has to represent three of his former clients as they need to find new shelter when their facility shuts down.
