The group arrives in the Galar region. Leaving their conspicuous airship behind, they decide to travel by land to the old castle where Riko's grandmother, Diana, resides. However, due to train service being suspended, they spend their free time in Engine City. Riko and Roy, along with Murdoch, head to the Battle Cafe, where they encounter Mitchell, a former pastry chef colleague of Murdoch's. But it seems the two have some kind of history…!?

Based on information from Kabu, Riko and Roy head to the Galar Mine in search of a black Rayquaza, but along the way they find a Hatenna lying unconscious. Molly's diagnosis is that its lack of energy is due to a "mental problem." Hatenna is constantly sensitive to the feelings of the creatures around it, which causes it pain. Unable to leave it there, Riko decides to take care of it herself...!?
