A boat full of Cambodian fishermen can't believe their eyes when they find a naked man floating along the Seattle coastline. Quickly they take the stranger on board and bring him to shore. The mysterious man is unharmed, but can't remember anything, not even his name, and seems to be colorblind. The police can't find his identity, his profile doesn't match anything in the database or Missing Persons reports. Despite not knowing anything about himself, he seems to know everything about everything else.

Once again, Detective Hayes asks for Johns to help unravel a mysterious murder. The cops found a woman's severed lower body, which had DNA from a person named Daniel Bowen. But it appears he is locked in a psychiatric institution and could not have committed the crime.
