Dr Jonathan Paige is immediately thrown into conflict with the new DI, Gillian Cramer, over a drunken teenage girl and a suspicious death.

Dr Paige assesses a young schizophrenic man and advises his mother that he needs professional help. She persuades Dr Paige that she can cope with her son, but the next day she is found dead.
