Documentary telling the journey from script to screen of the international hit TV show Agatha Raisin, a crime comedy-drama set in the beautiful Cotswolds.
Having lost their lead, Agatha and the gang go back to their list of suspects. Could Eirwen's murder be connected to the family business? Or were her two prior fiancés somehow involved? As Agatha looks closer at all these tangled relationships, she realizes that someone may have been unwilling to part from Eirwen-except by death.
The stage is all set for the wedding of the year between James and his Welsh fiancée, Eirwen, but nothing ever goes to plan in Carsely. First, an unfortunate paintballing mishap leaves the couple splattered in their finery. But ruined attire matters little when Eirwen is shot dead the night before the wedding, and Agatha must take on the case to clear James's name.
The police believe the latest death was an accident, but Agatha uncovers a possible connection to an earlier tragedy that may provide clues to the motive in this case. Meanwhile, Agatha's new flame turns out to have an incendiary effect at the funeral, where all manner of secrets come to light-and that's before Agatha gets herself into a jam that could prove fatal.
Agatha, Roy, and Sarah attend the Fruit Preserve Festival, where Charles and James are two of the judges for the jam competition, and DCI Wilkes is one of the competitors. After a few rounds of tastings, however, the judges start to act out, hallucinating-and Dr. Stevens, believing she can fly, jumps from the roof. DCI Wilkes employs Agatha to find the killer, as he's currently in the frame.
Toni and Roy go looking for Ronnie, but someone else gets there first. After reinterviewing the victim's latest husband, Agatha learns about Chelsea's traumatic history and begins to make connections between the killings and the long-ago robbery. But can she unravel the puzzle before another life is lost?
When James whisks Agatha away on a seaside trip to work on his new book, the last thing she expects is to end up in a town called Snoth-on-Sea. The getaway goes from bad to worse when they're greeted by protesters at the hotel, and then an obnoxious fellow guest is murdered-and the local police consider Agatha the prime suspect.
With business booming for Agatha Raisin Detective Agency, Agatha's in need of a well-earned break and with Christmas just around the corner it looks like the perfect opportunity to relax. However, when she receives a letter from an old lady begging for protection, Agatha can't help but spring into action.
Agatha is now an official private investigator and operates her first detective agency, where pressures are high to keep new business flowing. In addition, she's now living with on/off again beau and British history author, James Lacy.
Series 2 will adapt three of MC Beaton's novels, The Wizard of Evesham, The Curious Curate,and The Fairies of Fryham.
